Membrane Group India Private Limited, one of India’s leading
providers of advanced process water and wastewater treatment solutions, has
announced the establishment of Kurita Membrane India Private Limited, a joint
venture with Japan-based Kurita Water Industries Ltd, a global leader in water
treatment technologies and solutions.
Backed by a significant capital commitment from both
companies, the new venture aims to become a trusted water treatment solutions
partner for India’s rapidly growing semiconductor and advanced electronics
manufacturing sectors, offering advanced water and wastewater treatment
solutions.
The joint venture brings together Kurita’s globally proven
water treatment technologies and expertise, particularly for the semiconductor
industry, built on its “Water Intelligence” cultivated since its foundation,
with Membrane Group’s engineering, manufacturing and project execution
capabilities in India. The partnership will deliver world-class solutions
tailored to local market requirements.
Peeyush Narang, Managing Director, Membrane Group India Pvt
Ltd, said, “India has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to establish itself as
a global semiconductor manufacturing hub. Achieving this vision will require
world-class infrastructure, and water will be one of its most critical
enablers. Our vision is to ensure that India’s semiconductor industry has
access to world-class ultrapure water, wastewater recycling, and sustainable
water management solutions. Kurita brings global leadership in semiconductor
water technologies, while Membrane Group contributes decades of engineering,
manufacturing, and project execution expertise in India. Together, we are
committed to building a platform that enables sustainable manufacturing,
conserves water resources, and supports India’s technological progress with
world-class water infrastructure for the next generation of semiconductor and
advanced electronics manufacturing.”
The establishment of the joint venture reflects Membrane
Group’s long-term vision of delivering globally benchmarked technologies that
help industries optimise water use, maximise wastewater recycling, recover
valuable resources and reduce their environmental footprint. It also marks an
important milestone in Membrane Group’s expansion into India’s semiconductor
manufacturing ecosystem. Membrane Group’s growth strategy is supported by GEF
Capital Partners, a leading global private equity investor focused on
businesses advancing resource efficiency and environmental sustainability.
Kurita Membrane India will offer a comprehensive portfolio
of advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions, including Ultrapure Water
systems for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, industrial water and
wastewater treatment systems, wastewater reclamation and reuse solutions for
the semiconductor industry, resource recovery, Zero Liquid Discharge solutions,
water analysis and laboratory services.
The company will also provide end-to-end technical support
covering engineering, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, operation and
maintenance services. It will operate a state-of-the-art Ultrapure Water
Analysis Centre to support customers through advanced water quality testing,
process optimisation and technical services.
India’s semiconductor industry is entering a phase of rapid
expansion, supported by significant government initiatives and increasing
investments from domestic and international manufacturers. As semiconductor
fabrication facilities require highly reliable ultrapure water systems,
advanced water recycling and environmental management solutions, Kurita Membrane
India is strategically positioned to support this growing ecosystem.
