LANXESS has inaugurated a
new blending plant at its chemical manufacturing site in Jhagadia, Gujarat. In
the first phase, the facility will manufacture specialty lubricant additives.
The plant marks a
significant milestone for the company’s lubricant additives business in India
and strengthens its position in the region. Designed to serve domestic and
international markets, the facility will cater primarily to customers across
India, the Middle East and other key global markets. It has been developed with
a focus on safety, energy efficiency and responsible environmental practices.

LANXESS’ lubricant
additives business continues to scale its capabilities in India, aligning
global strategy with local execution. The new facility is intended to support
consistent delivery, faster response and stronger technical collaboration with
customers as demand evolves.

Vice President and Global Head of the Business Unit Lubricant Additives,

The company has also signed
a Memorandum of Understanding with Indian Oil Corporation Limited to bring its
technologies to the Indian market. In addition, LANXESS has started third-party
manufacturing activities in India for its Lubricant Additives business unit.
The inauguration ceremony
was attended by senior company officials, key industry stakeholders, business
partners and employees.
With this facility, LANXESS
has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to India as a strategic growth engine
and to delivering chemistries that support mobility and industrial applications
worldwide.
