Godrej Enterprises Group’s Material Handling Equipment (MHE) business has commenced operations at its advanced manufacturing facility in Khalapur, Maharashtra, strengthening indigenous manufacturing and supporting the growth of India’s logistics, warehousing and supply chain sectors.

Located within the 360-acre Naoroji Godrej Industrial Park, the facility has been designed to meet the growing requirements of sectors including manufacturing, e-commerce, quick commerce, pharmaceuticals, engineering, automotive and warehousing. It has an annual production capacity of 6,000 units, scalable to 15,000 units as demand grows, enhancing Godrej’s ability to deliver innovative, locally designed and manufactured material handling solutions.

Strategically located near major logistics hubs, including Nhava Sheva Port and the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, the facility is positioned to serve domestic and export markets. It manufactures a range of material handling solutions, including articulated trucks, a category in which Godrej is the only Indian manufacturer. The company exports its products to more than 40 countries, reflecting its engineering expertise and global competitiveness.

Designed as a future-ready manufacturing hub, the facility integrates advanced automation and Industry 4.0 technologies across key production processes. These include robotic welding, automated painting, digital assembly guidance, smart quality assurance systems and end-of-line testing.

Sustainability has been incorporated into operations through resource-efficient manufacturing processes, automated paint systems and energy-efficient technologies. Godrej Enterprises Group, which recently received the EcoVadis Gold Medal, is among the top 5 per cent of companies globally assessed for sustainability performance.
